Berwick couple faces drug charges
A Berwick couple was arrested Thursday on drug charges, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Kadeem Johnson, 26, of Texas Street in Berwick, was arrested at 5:18 p.m. Thursday on possession charges for marijuana with intent to distribute, drug paraphernalia, a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile and violation of controlled dangerous substance law in a drug-free zone.
—Natalie Legnon , 27, of Texas Street in Berwick, was arrested at 5:18 p.m. Thursday on possession charges for marijuana with intent to distribute, drug paraphernalia, a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile and violation of controlled dangerous substance law in a drug-free zone.
Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section conducted a search warrant at Johnson and Legnon’s residence with the assistance of patrol deputies and officers of the Berwick Police Department.
Several small children at the residence were released to a family member prior to the investigation. During the course of the search, detectives located marijuana and items of drug-related paraphernalia.
The residence is located directly across from Berwick Elementary School. Johnson and Legnon were both transported to St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.
Hebert reported responding to 38 complaints and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Christopher C. Adams, 42, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:40 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear for a drug court status conference and failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court.
Adams turned himself in to a deputy at his residence. Bail is set at $100,000.
—Kennedy Breaux, 50, of James Street in Siracusaville, was arrested at 8:17 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for probation violation.
While booking Breaux at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer located the warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.
—David Rattray, 55, of Stephensville Road in Stephensville, was arrested at 10:13 p.m. Thursday on charges for careless operation of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
A deputy was dispatched to a report of a single vehicle crash on La. 182 in Amelia and located a vehicle in a ditch.
The deputy made contact with the driver, Rattray, and observed that he was swaying from side to side and slurring his words as he spoke. The deputy also smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person.
Rattray told the deputy that he missed a turn and drove into the ditch. Rattray was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Cesar A.M. Carbrera, 28, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:08 a.m. Thursday on a charge for no driver’s license.
Carbrera was observed by a patrolling officer operating a vehicle on Victor II Boulevard. It was known by the officer from a previous investigation the same day that Carbrera did not have a driver’s license.
A traffic stop was made and Carbrera was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and jailed.
—Tiffany L. Randolph, 27, of Big Bear Lane in Franklin, was arrested at 8:09 a.m. Thursday on warrants for criminal damage to property and theft.
Randolph was transported from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Officer Jail facility to the Morgan City Police Department regarding active warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department.
The warrants were obtained from an investigation conducted by Morgan City police of an incident reported May 31 alleging criminal damage to property and theft. Randolph was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
—Keith Henderson, 17, of Hilda Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:30 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for simple battery.
Henderson was located by officers at an address on Hickory Street where he was arrested on an active warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department.
The warrant was obtained from an investigation conducted by Morgan City Police of an incident Aug. 21 of an alleged simple battery. Henderson was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
—Aaron L. Walker, 27, of Terrebonne Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:52 p.m. Thursday on a charge for disturbing the peace.
Officers responded to a residence on Terrebonne Street in regard to a reported disturbance. The officers arrived when they heard shouting from inside the reported residence.
During an investigation, the officers identified several people inside the residence, including Walker, who were shouting and using profane language.
Walker was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
—Chaz M. Rebardi , 21, of Mill Road in Patterson, was arrested at 9:34 p.m. Thursday on the charges of possession of marijuana, violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance laws and warrant for possession of marijuana.
Rebardi was located by officers on Greenwood and First streets where he was arrested on an active warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant was obtained from an investigation conducted by Morgan City Police of an incident on June 8 where Rebardi was alleged to possess marijuana.
During the arrest, reports indicate that officers conducted a search of Rebardi’s person when the officer located suspected marijuana.
The location of the incident was within the area of a local church in violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance laws. Rebardi was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
—Melvin East, 55, of Egle Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:32 p.m. Thursday on warrants for failure to appear for theft by shoplifting (two), probation violation, and contempt of court.
East was located by officers at a residence on Egle Street where he was arrested on several active warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court.
East was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
—Damion T. Lynch, 20, of Roderick Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:02 a.m. today on warrants for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance laws.
Lynch was located by officers on Front Street near Ann Street where Lynch was arrested on several active warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department.
The warrants were obtained from an investigation conducted by Morgan City Police of an incident May 15 where Lynch was alleged to possess marijuana and drug paraphernalia within a drug-free zone.
Lynch was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
—Kevin Lynch, 44, of First Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:02 a.m. today on warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court for failure to appear for no driver’s license, failure to appear for no turn signal, and a warrant with the Patterson Police Department for failure to appear for no driver’s license.
Lynch was located by officers on First Street near Ann Street where Lynch was arrested on several active warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court and the Patterson Police Department.
Lynch was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and jailed.
—Taffeta J. Lynch, 43, of First Street in Morgan City, was arrested 2:32 a.m. today on charges for possession of acetaminophen and marijuana and warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance laws.
Lynch was located by officers at a residence on First Street where she was arrested on several active warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department.
The warrants were obtained from an investigation conducted by Morgan City Police of an incident May 15 where Lynch was alleged to possess marijuana and drug paraphernalia within the area of a drug-free zone.
During the arrest, reports indicate that officers found Lynch to be in possession of acetaminophen and marijuana. Lynch was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Ryan Bergeron, 27, of Boquet Street in Bourg, was arrested at 11:06 p.m. Thursday on the charges of no turn signal and driving under suspension. Bergeron remains jailed. Bail is set at $1,250.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
