Housing chairman resigns after drug arrest
Morgan City Housing Authority Board Chairman Victor Ho submitted his letter of resignation as chairman effective today, Mayor Frank “Boo” Grizzaffi said in a news release.
Ho, 37, was one of three arrests the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office made Thurs-day as part of a long-term investigation, after authori-ties searched a store and home in the Morgan City area.
Ho was charged with dis-tribution-manufacturing-sale-possession of synthetic urine, possession of marijuana, Percocet, Lortab, Norco, Xanax, and drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, transactions involving drug proceeds, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous sub-stance and violations of the controlled dangerous sub-stance law drug-free zone.
Ho was appointed to the housing authority board Oct. 26, 2010, by former Mayor Tim Matte, and reappointed by Grizzaffi Oct. 28, 2015. The city council ratified his reappointment, the release said.
He was elected chairman of the board in 2011 and served in that capacity until his resignation this morning.
