Krewe of Galatea tableau Saturday, more to follow

The women’s Krewe of Galatea will present its tableau Saturday. Two other balls have already been held in the Tri-City area.
Four balls will follow on consecutive Saturdays leading up to Mardi Gras. Six parades will be held from Feb. 13 through Fat Tuesday, Feb. 17.
Three anniversary celebrations will be highlighted. Adonis celebrated 40 years, the Krewe of Hannibal will recognize 35 years, and the Krewe of Hephaestus will mark 55 years of revelry.
Changes to the Morgan City parade routes also have been announced. The parades for the krewes of Adonis, Galatea and Hephaestus will turn from Ninth Street onto Brashear Avenue instead of onto Clothilde Street due to construction work.
Officials from each krewe remind ball patrons that events begin promptly as scheduled and all viewers should be seated prior to the published start times.
Krewe of Galatea
The women’s Krewe of Galatea will celebrate its 46th year with a coronation at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. This is an invitation-only event.
Making an appearance will be Queen and King of Galatea XLV Mrs. Charles Richard and Craig Bennett.
Galatea will host its annual parade at 2 p.m. Feb. 15 in Morgan City. The procession will organize on Second Street in Morgan City under the U.S. 90 Grizzaffi Bridge and proceed north to Onstead Street, Sixth Street, Marguerite Street (where a toast will take place at the reviewing stand), Ninth Street, Brashear Avenue and Victor II Boulevard, ending at the auditorium.
Krewe of Dionysus
On Feb. 7, the Krewe of Dionysus will present its 36th coronation at the Berwick Civic Complex. An 8 p.m. start is planned for the event. Floor seating is invitation only. Balcony viewing is available free to the public.
Bidding adieu will be King and Queen Dionysus XXXV Doug and Mamie Perry.
This year’s alternating Dionysus parade will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 14 in Bayou Vista.
Participants will line up on the corner of Jupiter and Delmar streets, and the procession will turn right on Delmar to Venus, Saturn, Southeast Boulevard, Canal Street, Teche Road, Fairmont, back to Southeast and turn right onto Belleview and proceed to its starting point on Jupiter Street where it will disband.

Dionysus will hold an After Parade Dance. Tickets, $10, are available from any board member. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Krewe of Hannibal
Also on Feb. 7, the Krewe of Hannibal will host its 35th ball at 8 p.m. at the auditorium. Floor seating is invitation only. Balcony viewing is free.
Saying farewell will be King Hannibal XXXIV Dwight J. Smith and Queen Cleopatra Ethel H. Carbins.
Krewe members will parade in the Dionysus, Amani and Siracusa/Greenwood Mardi Gras parades.
Krewe of Amani
The Krewe of Amani will also hold a tableau Feb. 14. The event at the Patterson Area Civic Center has floor seating for $20 with tickets available from krewe members. Balcony viewing for the 8 p.m. coronation is $5.
Saying farewell will be King and Queen Amani XVII Jerome Jennings Sr. and Chika Carbins-Johnson.
Amani will hold its Lundi Gras parade at 1 p.m. Feb. 16. The procession will line up at Patterson High School and proceed down La. 182 (Main Street) and end at the Place Norman Shopping Center.
Krewe of Hephaestus
The Krewe of Hephaestus, the oldest local krewe, will hold its 55th coronation court at 8 p.m. Feb. 14 at the auditorium. Floor seating is invitation only, but free balcony viewing is available to the public.
Making an appearance will be King and Queen Hephaestus LIV Troy Landry and Alison Bergeron.
Hephaestus will parade Fat Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Morgan City.
The parade will organize at the corner of Sixth and Sycamore streets in Morgan City, proceed down Sixth Street to Marguerite Street, Ninth Street, Brashear Avenue, and Victor II Boulevard, ending at the auditorium.
Siracusa/Greenwood
The Siracusa/Greenwood Mardi Gras Parade will also be held Fat Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Siracusa Subdivision near Morgan City.
Participants will line up on Siracusa Road at 1 p.m. and proceed to James Street and Grace Street before ending at the Siracusaville Recreation Center.
