Race takes shape for District 2 seat

Midway through the last day of qualifying for the Nov. 8 city primary elections, Mayor Frank "Boo" Grizzaffi remained unopposed for re-election, and a race developed in City Council District 2.

Mark A. Stephens has joined Dean S. Adams in qualifying to run for the District 2 seat now held by Barry Dufrene.

As of about 11 a.m. today, the following candidates have qualified in Morgan City for the Nov. 8 election, according to the Louisiana secretary of state’s website.
