Tire drive is Saturday

The city of Morgan City’s mosquito control department will hold a drive Saturday to collect unused tires.
Waste tires are a health hazard for the community and environment. They hold water that mosquitoes can use as a breeding ground.
The drive will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday under the U.S. 90 at the corner of Greenwood and Second streets.
Requirements include the following:
—Only five tires per vehicle may be dropped off.
—Only Morgan City residents are allowed to bring tires.
—Automobile tires only, not bigger than 54 inches tall by 17 inches wide.
—No 18-wheeler tires accepted.
—No big equipment tires accepted.
