BRENDA LIRETTE LINER

“Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower,
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.” — R. Frost
Brenda Lirette Liner, 68, passed with peace and grace, her loving family by her side, on the early morning of Wednesday, April 15, 2015. She was a native of Bayou duLarge and a longtime resident of Morgan City.
Brenda, “Aunt B,” drove the special needs school bus for the St. Mary Parish School Board for the last 17 years. She loved her job and loved “her kids.” She had a heart of gold, a pantry full of snacks, and a room full of “treasures” from the ABC catalog and freebies from the casino.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rogers Liner, who hasn’t left her side since she became ill in March; and her sons, Teddy and spouse, Brenda, and Kelly. Surviving siblings include sisters, Rhonda (Edward) Smith, Debra McCune, Amanda “Lulu” (Junior) Voisin and Trudy Fanguy; and brothers, Jesse (Mercedes) Lirette, Paul (Theresa) Lirette, Gary (Frances) Lirette, Curt (Wenona) Lirette, Phillip (Robin) Lirette and Peter (Brenda) Lirette. Also left to cherish her memory are her “surrogate” children, her nieces, Vickie Hebert, Marilea M. Liner-Guillotte and Raina Byars; her nephews, Seth Hebert, Jarret Hebert, Liam Guillotte and Jaxon Guillotte; close friends, Carolyn and Jerry Watson, and Drue and Jeanie Clement; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Liner; parents, Robert and Leola Lirette; mother- and father-in-law, Alvin and Melvina Liner; sisters, Judy Lirette and Betty LaCoste; brother, Robert Lirette Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Morris Liner, Louis Liner, David Fanguy and Mac LaCoste.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Hargrave Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will continue from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church in Morgan City. Pastor L. John Locasio will officiate services beginning at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at the Morgan City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Seth Hebert, Jarret Hebert, Liam Guillotte, Heath Guillotte, Murray Hebert and Morris Liner Jr.
