Workshop focuses on Gulf dead zone

COCODRIE, La. (AP) — The Coastal Waters Consortium and Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium will offer a workshop April 12 focusing on the oxygen-depleted area of the Gulf of Mexico known as the dead zone.
The program will be from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the DeFelice Marine Center in the Terrebonne Parish community of Cocodrie.
The program will include a presentation by dead zone researcher Nancy Rabalais, a trip aboard a research boat and other activities.
Cost to attend is $10.
