Franklin Garden Club monthly meeting

THE FRANKLIN GARDEN CLUB held its April meeting at the home of Keeri and Eddie Payton. The Paytons have a vegetable garden, stocked fish pond and numerous fruit trees. Mr. Payton showed the club how to prepare garden soil by adding oak leaves and compost before planting. He also grows asparagus and blackberries. Asparagus takes up to two years to produce and can live for up to 20 years.
