TRI-CITY TOP GRADUATES

Nicholas Case and Kimberly Russo will lead the Central Catholic High School Class of 2014 in commencement exercises at 6 p.m. today at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City.
Case, the class valedictorian, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ree Case.
During his high school career, Case was named several times to all-district and academic all-district teams in basketball, baseball and football. He served as captain of the football and basketball teams during his senior year and was on the academic composite all-state team in both sports the same year.
He was a member of Key Club for two years and attended literary rally twice. He served on student council for two years, and he was a member of Students Against Destructive Decisions for three years.
Case also was a member of National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He volunteered at Maison Jardin, St. Mary Outreach and the Salvation Army.
Case plans to attend Louisiana State University, majoring in biology with a concentration in pre-med. He said he would like to come back to Morgan City afterward to practice in his hometown.
Russo, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Russo III, is Central Catholic’s salutatorian.
She was a Hoby Ambassador and, for two years, was a member of National Honor Society. She was on the student council for three years.
She was a member of the all-district and academic all-district teams in softball all four years of her high school career. She also was an all-state shortstop her junior year.
She plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, majoring in psychology.
