Master Sgt. Donald Eugene Hull Sr., USAF retired

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville for Master Sgt. Donald Eugene Hull Sr., United States Air Force retired, who passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at 2:55 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
He will be laid to rest with military honors in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. The Rev. Thomas Vu will officiate the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Eugene Hull Jr., Eddy P. Burke, Matthew P. Burke, Mark A. DeRise Sr., Mark A. DeRise Jr., Jeremy J. Hull and Whitney W. Hull. Honorary pallbearer will be Timothy A. Hines.
Donald served as a master sergeant in the United States Air Force, having served in the Vietnam War, and retired in 1975 after 20 years of service. Following his service in the military, he started his own business, H&H Specialized Dog Services Inc., training dogs for personal use as well as law enforcement. He also worked as a welder for Avondale and then McDermott. In 1984, he went to work for the U.S. Customs until 1990. Rounding out his work life, he worked as a truck driver in Virginia, then for SMI in Bayou Sale, retiring in 2007.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Antoinette Thibodeaux Hull; five children, Christine A. Hull, Tammy M. Hull, Debora H. Burke and her husband, Eddy, Margaret H. DeRise and her husband. Mark, and Donald E. Hull Jr.; one sister, Joyce H. Chambers; eight grandchildren, Jeremy J. Hull, Whitney W. Hull, Matthew P. Burke and his wife. Lauren, Audra E. DeRise, Mark A. DeRise Jr., Kristin R. Hull, Maddie M. Hull, and Mauriana E. Hull; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Mildred Hull; four siblings, Mildred Stanfield, Phyllis Hull, Raymond Hull and Gerald Hull; and one granddaughter, Pamela M. Burke.
