Assumption declares 'no wake' zones

NAPOLEONVILLE, La. (AP) — Assumption Parish Police Jury President Martin Triche has declared "no wake" zones on several area waterways due to high water.
The waterways include in Friday's order are: Bayou Corne, Pierre Part Bay, Bayou Drive Elevation Bridge, Belle River, 4-Mile Bayou, Bayou Gannevail, Bayou Crab, Bayou Tranquille, Lake Verret Park Estates Canal, T-Bayou, Pierre Part Bay along East Drive and Grand Bayou.
The no wake zones took effect Friday and come after flooding resulted from Wednesday's storms.
