PSB Mystics win Patterson 12U softball championship
The Patterson State Bank Mystics finished as the Patterson 12U champions, with an 11-1 overall mark and a 3-0 record in the league tournament.
In Monday’s tournament contest at Kemper Williams, the Mystics edged Ocean Marine Wolfpack, 12-11.
Trailing 11-10 after Ocean Marine plated five runs in the top of the third, PSB plated the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the third.
Early on, Ocean Marine took a 1-0 lead after the first inning before PSB scored five runs in the bottom of the first.
Ocean Marine retook the lead at 6-5 in the top of the second before PSB scored five runs in the bottom of the frame for a 10-6 lead. The inning included a two-RBI single to right field by Emma Grace Marin.
Makenna Lagarde and Anastasjah Clossen each pitched for PSB.
Lagarde pitched 2.1 innings and surrendered 10 runs on no hits with 12 walks, one hit batter and one strikeout.
In 0.2 innings, Clossen surrendered a run on a hit with two walks and one strikeout.
Offensively, Marin led PSB with a 1-for-1 performance with two RBIs and two runs, while Sarah Byrd was 1-for-1 with an RBI and a run scored.
Other contributors included Aubreisha Augman, 1-for-1, a run scored; Lagarde, two runs scored; and Natalie Mayon, Iriah Taylor, Clossen, Amber Demers, Breanna Williams and Salene Charles, each with a run scored.
Deanna Carrington and Maddy Harrington each pitched in the loss for Ocean Marine.
Carrington pitched 0.1 innings and surrendered three runs and three walks, while Harrington tossed 2.2 innings and surrendered nine runs on three hits with 11 walks, one hit batter and one strikeout.
Harrington led Ocean Marine’s offense with a 1-for-1 performance with an RBI.

Cameron Red Sox 8
In their second game of the league tournament on May 27, the PSB Mystics defeated the Cameron Red Sox 10-8.
PSB scored the winning runs in the bottom of the second.
Early on, Cameron scored five runs in the top of the first, including a bases-loaded triple to right field to clear the bases by Gabrielle Billiot.
However, the Patterson State Bank defense was able to get Billiot out on the play when she tried the score.
While Patterson State Bank tied the game at 5 in the bottom of the first, Cameron retook the lead at 8-5 in the top of the second.
Anastasjah Clossen and Makenna Lagarde both pitched for Patterson State Bank. Clossen pitched an inning and surrendered five runs on one hit with six walks and one hit batter.
Lagarde pitched two innings and surrendered three runs on one hit with three walks and fanned two.
Offensively, Aubreisha Augeam led PSB with a 1-for-1 performance with an RBI, while Sarah Byrd was 1-for-1 with a run scored and Clossen, 1-for-1.
Other contributors included Emma Grace Marin, Natalie Mayon, Lagarde and Iriah Taylor, each two runs scored; and Salena Charles, a run scored.
Aja Lacoste and Kaitlyn Grogan each pitched in the loss for Cameron.
Lacoste pitched an inning and surrendered five runs on one hit with four walks.
Grogan pitched an inning and surrendered five runs on two hits with eight walks, one hit batter and one strikeout.
Billiot led Cameron with a 1-for-2 performance with a triple and three RBIs, while Layla Giroir was 1-for-1 with two runs.
Other contributors included Lacoste, two runs, and Grogan, Bianca Thomas, Alexis Johnson and Avery Theriot, each a run scored.

Ocean Marine Wolfpack 1
In the first game of the league tournament, the Patterson State Bank Mystics routed the Ocean Marine Wolfpack 15-1.
In the contest, the PSB Mystics turned a triple play to end the contest.
In the bottom of the third and Ocean Marine with the bases loaded, Patterson State Bank first baseman Sarah Byrd caught a line drive, stepped on her base and threw to third base where Aubreisha Augeam caught the ball and tagged the runner for the final out.
PSB jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
While Ocean Marine scored a run in the bottom of the frame, PSB scored five runs apiece in the top of the second and third innings.
Makenna Lagarde earned the win for the PSB Mystics. In three innings, she surrendered a run on a hit with six walks, two hit batters and two strikeouts.
Offensively, Amber Demers led PSB with a 1-for-1 performance with an RBI and a run, while Augeam was 1-for-1 with an RBI; and Breanna Williams, 1-for-1 with a run scored.
Other contributors included Emma Grace Marin and Lagarde, three runs apiece; Natalie Mayon, Iriah Taylor and Byrd, two runs each; and Anastasjah Clossen, a run scored.

Ocean Marine Wolfpack 17, PSB Mystics 14
Ocean Marine handed PSB their lone loss this season with a 17-14 win in 12U action at Kemper Williams Park near Patterson May 19.
While PSB rallied with four runs in the bottom of the third inning to turn a 17-10 deficit into a 17-14 lead for Ocean Marine, Ocean Marine allowed more runs as the game ended with Ocean Marine pitcher Maddy Harrington recording a double play. After she caught a line drive, she got the runner out at first base on the play.
In the top of the third inning, Ocean Marine had turned a 10-9 deficit into a 17-10 advantage after scoring eight runs using 11 walks.
Ocean Marine took a 4-0 lead after the top of the first before Patterson State Bank took a 5-4 lead after their first inning. In their at bat, Patterson State Bank pounded out six hits.
Ocean Marine retook the lead at 9-5 in the top of the second before Patterson State Bank scored five more runs in the bottom of the second for a 10-9 advantage.
Carrington and Harrington each pitched for Ocean Marine.
In two innings, Carrington surrendered 10 runs on eight hits with nine walks and one hit batter, while Harrington surrendered four runs on four hits with four walks in one inning.
Patrice Bazil led Ocean Marine with a 1-for-1 performance with two runs, while Sierra Everitt was 1-for-2 with a run.
Other contributors included Carrington and Shalyn Jones, three runs apiece; Kiala Stansbury and Amyie Pearce, two runs each; and Harrington, Elizabeth Lewis and Breanna Butler, all with a run scored.
