Tigers take 1st place in Patterson 11- and 12-year-old baseball league

The G&J Tigers won the 11- and 12-year-old age group in Patterson by clinching the season-ending tournament in their age group earlier this month.
Head coach Bronson Blanchard said his squad entered the tournament with a league-leading 6-4 mark during the season.
After receiving a first-round bye, G&J played Pollard’s Cardinals, who they beat on May 27, before the Cardinals defeated them in a tournament rematch, 5-4, on June 2, forcing a winner-take-all contest.
Two days later, the Tigers topped the Cardinals, 7-3, for the championship.
Garrett Hotard led the Tigers both on the mound and at the plate in the tournament.
Hotard pitched 11 innings and surrendered eight runs on 19 hits with 12 walks and fanned 26.
Offensively, he finished 6-for-8 with four doubles, six RBIs and two runs.
Other pitchers for the Tigers were Jason Burgess and Andrew Duval.
Burgess pitched three innings and surrendered two runs on three hits with four walks and fanned six.
Duval tossed an inning and surrendered a run on two hits with one strikeout.
Other offensive standouts were Duval, 5-for-8 with an RBI and five runs; Burgess, 5-for-8 with three runs; Dylan Blanchard, 4-for-8, a double, a triple, three RBIs and two runs; Andrew Cuvillier, 2-for-8, a triple, two RBIs and two runs; Austin Ganaway, 2-for-4, an RBI and a run; Khyre Willis, 1-for-6, a home run, an RBI and a run; Taylour Vining, 1-for-8, two RBIs; Chandler Ross, 1-for-4; and Patrick Bazile, 1-for-6, a run.
In addition to Blanchard, other coaches of the Tigers this season were assistant coaches Randy Newlin and Gary Hotard.
The Tigers had the most all-star selections among any team in the league with five, according to Coach Blanchard. Selections were Burgess, Garrett Hotard, Dylan Blanchard, Duval and Cuvillier.
