A 36-year-old Morgan City man was jailed Friday stemming from a June 15 complaint where he is accused of stealing an electronic tablet from the Mr. Charlie Rig Museum, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
—Peter E. Grogan Jr., 36, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:53 p.m. Friday on a warrant for simple burglary.
Detectives began an investigation into a theft of an electronic tablet that was reported June 15 at the Mr. Charlie Rig Museum. Investigators were able to determine through their investigation that Grogan had illegally entered onto the property, entering the living quarters at that location, Banks said. Grogan is accused of having committed the theft and then leaving the property, Banks said. Grogan was jailed.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Travis L. Burgess, 36, of Bowman Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:25 p.m. Saturday for domestic abuse battery.
—Jessica B. Burgess, 32, of Bowman Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:56 p.m. Saturday for domestic abuse battery.
Officers received a complaint of a domestic disturbance at a Bowman Street residence and arrived to investigate. Jessica Burgess and Travis Burgess are accused of being involved in an argument which turned into a physical altercation, Banks said. Both were jailed.
—Jerry L. Mctaggart, 44, of Minden, was arrested at 10:39 p.m. Thursday for appearing in public intoxicated.
Officers were dispatched to a La. 182 motel in regards to a subject causing a disturbance. Mctaggart was jailed.
Mctaggart was also arrested at 6:20 a.m. Saturday for appearing in public intoxicated. Officers received a complaint of an intoxicated person sleeping outside a La. 182 business. Mctaggart was jailed again.
—Randall M. Lejeune, 52, of Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:23 a.m. Friday on a St. Mary Parish warrant for theft of goods.
Officers received a complaint of a person sleeping in his vehicle near Lake End Park and located Lejeune. He was jailed.
—Mary M. Nelson, 42, of Belanger Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:34 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks.
Nelson was located on Belanger Street and jailed on a 1995 warrant for issuing worthless checks. She was jailed and released after posting cash bail.
—Robert Mulligan, 61, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace intoxicated.
Officers were dispatched to the Front Street area regarding a suspicious person. Mulligan was jailed.
—Joseph M. Price, 40, of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:22 p.m. Saturday for vehicular trespassing.
Officers received a complaint of a person looking into vehicles in the parking lot of a La. 182 pharmacy. Officers were advised Price had approached the vehicle and began to lean onto the vehicle to peer into the windows.
The complainant advised that Price then hurried away as the complainant locked the doors of the vehicle, Banks said. Price was jailed.
—Sandy J. Percle, 56, of Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Saturday for driving while intoxicated and improper turning.
An officer observed a vehicle make an improper turn at the intersection of La. 182 and Ditch Avenue and stopped the vehicle to investigate. Upon coming into contact with the driver, Percle, appeared impaired. Percle did poorly on a field sobriety test. Percle was jailed and submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test, which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .203 grams-percent.
—Jairo Molina Jr., 28, of Louisa Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:25 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for a probation violation for resisting an officer, a warrant for failure to pay fine for a probation violation. Molina was located at the corner of Hilda Street and Sixth Street in Morgan City and jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 137 complaints and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Sonya Mclemore, 24, of the 500 block of Joey Street in Patterson, was arrested at 5:41 a.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace intoxicated and battery of a police officer. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy located a woman lying in the back of a pickup truck in the parking lot of the business. The deputy identified the subject as Mclemore. The deputy observed Mclemore to be highly intoxicated. During the arrest, Mclemore pushed the deputy, Hebert said. Mclemore was jailed with bail set at $1,500.
—Christopher D. Johnson, 34, of the 300 block of Egle Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:01 p.m. Sunday for a probation violation. Johnson was transferred from Walton County jail in Defuniak Springs, Fla., to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. No bail is set.
—Harvey J. Morgan, 33, of the 100 block of Rosepark Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:35 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy made contact with Morgan and learned of the warrant for his arrest. The deputy released Morgan on a summons to appear in court Sept. 3.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Kilo N. White, 23, of the 900 block of First Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:55 p.m. Sunday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, no driver’s license, and violating general speed law. White was released on $2,500 bail.
—Charles Randle, 21, of the 200 block of Maringy Circle in Duson, was arrested at 2:16 a.m. Sunday for resisting an officer by giving false information, and no driver’s license. Randle was jailed on $486 bail.
—Ieisha Griffin, 21, of the 200 block of Larimer Street in Lafayette, was arrested at 2:15 a.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace fighting, resisting an officer by giving false information, resisting an officer by flight, and on a warrant for another jurisdiction. Griffin was jailed on $978 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Lationa Segura, 35, of West Admiral Doyle Drive in New Iberia, was arrested at 12:39 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated first offense. Segura was jailed in lieu of bail.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest:
—Dedrick Gant, 29, of Live Oak Rd., Patterson, was arrested at 1:59 a.m. Saturday, for possession of a Legend Drug without a prescription, possession of Schedule IV Xanax/Alprazolam, and three counts of resisting an officer. Gant was processed and held with no bail set yet.
