Kandace Jeniece Smith

February 8, 1990 — June 22, 2014
Kandace Jeniece Smith, 24, a native and resident of Morgan City, lost her fight with Cystic Fibrosis Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Tulane Medical Center.
Kandace never allowed her illness to slow her down and keep her from being a dedicated mother to her three daughters, Savannah, Brooklyn and Dakota. She was fun-loving, generous to a fault, and loved to dance and have a good time. Kandace could walk into a place and light it up with her smile and personality. She had such a strong will to live and could turn any bad situation around with her sense of humor. Two of her favorite things to do were to go shopping and scrapbook for her daughters. Kandace also had such a close and loving relationship with her grandma, Lana. Kandace will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Kandace will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Savannah, Brooklyn and Dakota Bowers of Morgan City; her fiancé, Steven Bowers of Morgan City; her mother, Shana R. Arnaud of Morgan City; father, Howard P. Smith Jr.; one brother, Hunter Gillette of Atlanta; one sister, Briana Muschweck and husband, Nick, of Kemah, Texas; one niece, Lauren Muschweck of Kemah, Texas; two grandmothers, Lana Stevens and husband, Jay, of Charenton, and Deborah Holt and husband, Bubba, of Berwick; along with one aunt, Jennifer Bowers of Charenton.
Visitation will take place at Twin City Funeral Home Friday, June 27, 2014, beginning at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with services starting at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Twin City Funeral Home to help cover funeral expenses.
