Dixie Youth tourney wraps up

The Dixie Youth North Regional Tournament wrapped up Wednesday in Bayou Vista with two teams from northern Louisiana claiming championship titles.
West Ouachita 12-year-olds and Shreveport American 10-year-olds will continue on to the state tournament this weekend.
The tournament of 16 teams in two divisions was moved to Bayou Vista on Monday after heavy rains during the weekend made it impossible to play on the host fields in Franklin.
The Franklin 10-year-old All Stars were eliminated from the tournament in two rounds with defeats by West Monroe South and Franklinton American.
The Franklin 12-year-old All Stars made it through three rounds. They lost to Union Parish, beat Morgan City and then lost to Alexandria.
