2 injured after being trapped in machinery

EMPIRE, La. (AP) — Plaquemines Parish sheriff's deputies say two employees of an Empire fishery suffered severe leg injuries after being confined in a piece of machinery.
Authorities tell NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune (http://bit.ly/1kktqWM) the employees were performing maintenance on a "fish counter/sorter" at Daybrook Fisheries when they became trapped around 6 p.m. Monday.
One of the two employees was freed from the machine about 8 p.m. and taken to University Hospital with a severe right leg injury.
Authorities say the second employee was freed about 8:45 p.m. and air lifted to the hospital with severe injuries to both legs.
Investigators are still determining the cause of the incident.
