BBQ cook-off, car show and ride to benefit MDA, Brittany’s

The grounds of Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel will be busy this Saturday with three major events taking place at the South Louisiana hot spot.
The day will start with the inaugural “Griilin’ Proud” BBQ Cook-Off, followed by the “Revving’ Loud” Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Rat Rod and Special Interest Show and then culminate with the 34th Annual MDA Ride for Life.
The 34th Annual MDA Ride for Life will leave from Cajun Harley-Davidson at 8 a.m. Saturday and is expected to reach Cypress Bayou by 1 p.m. Once all riders have reached the casino, MDA will hold a live auction and raffle off a 2014 Harley-Davidson FLHXS StreetGlide motorcycle. The “Revvin Loud” Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Rat Rod and Special Interest Show will begin at 8 a.m. with Top 50 plus specialities. The proceeds from the car show will benefit Brittany’s Project. For more information at “Revvin Loud” contact Sandra Saucier at 337-828-2284.
The “Grillin’ Proud” BBQ Cook-Off will be a State Championship, IBCA Sanctioned Competition and will award prizes in the categories of chicken, pork spareribs and brisket. Questions about the cook-off should be directed to O’Neil Darden at 337-578-6636
The Brittany’s Project car show is a Top 75 open car show and free to spectators.
Lives bands will include Old Soul live onstage at 10 a.m. followed by Tony O & Wheelhouse at 1 p.m.
Mickey and Minnie will be on the grounds as well as a couple of carnival tents for the children.
Car show registration is $25. Free magnets will be given to the first 100 participants.
All proceeds from the car show will go to Brittany’s Project & Brittany’s Special Friends Camp Funds.
