Toys for Tots poker run Saturday

The Marine Corps League, St. Mary Detachment kicks off its annual Toys for Tots fundraising drive Saturday with a poker run, barbecue dinner and live music.
The public is invited to join riders for a barbecue lunch provided by B&G Smokehouse. For $8, they can have a plate of barbecued chicken, pulled pork, sausage, rice dressing, baked beans and coleslaw.
All money raised is donated to the Toys for Tots program.
Co-coordinator James Dugas said the Toys for Tots program provides Christmas presents for an average of 1,400 children annually in St. Mary and surrounding areas.
All those who are pre-registered for the poker run receive a free café au lait and beignet breakfast, free barbecue lunch by B&G Smokehouse and a T-shirt.
Walk-in registration for the poker run is 7 to 9 a.m. Saturday.
Riders are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate at the event.
The poker run starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. at Daiquiri & Company. The 114-mile run stops at Cajun Country Lounge in Houma, Congo Lounge in Thibodaux and the Spunky Monkey in Pierre Part.
There also will be giveaways, door prizes, and a motorcycle show featuring 13 divisions.
