Mechanical troubles cause problems for Dumesnil Team

The last race of the year was a disaster for the Dumesnil Team. Bryan Dumesnil, who holds the title of the Texas State Champion, raced in Conroe Texas. The team was confident to get two first place wins, but mechanical trouble ended that hope. On Saturday in the practice, Bryan’s race 450 Honda quad lost fire with electric problems. The team was unable to find a part and Bryan’s practice bike was at home with a bent frame. Dee Mancheck, the race manager told Bryan to ride his wife’s bike, just so he could race. Bryan had only two practice laps and then the race. The first race, Bryan had a bad start and was in eighth place in the first turn. However Bryan in three laps was able to pass up to the fourth place spot. On the fourth and last lap, Bryan passed up the third place rider to finish third. On the second race, Bryan got a better start but a rider in front of him stalled and Bryan again was in the back of the pack. Bryan in two laps passed everyone and was going around the second place rider with the first place ride just two bikes ahead when bad luck took over again. The back axle on the Mancheck bike broke and the left rear wheel flew off. Bryan managed to keep control without the bike flipping, but the race was over for him. Dee Mancheck told Bryan’s dad Ulysse that he’s sure Bryan would have taken first place.
