Community barbecue

Volunteers and staff at UMCOR Sager Brown in Baldwin recently served more than 340 plates of barbecued meats to their neighbors in the area. Volunteers from Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma and Oregon participated in this impromptu event. UMCOR Sager Brown’s own Freddie Cooks was the grill master. Roast beef, chicken, hamburgers, ham, pork chops, turkey, brisket and pork tenderloin were dished up into individual containers and passed out, free of charge, to friends and neighbors from all over the area. Acadiane Renovations provided a large tent to keep everyone cool.
