Head Start fair Fri. at CAA site

St. Mary Community Action Agency is observing Head Start Awareness Month, which includes Family Celebration Week and concludes with the annual Community Fair on Friday at Peter Pan Head Start, 1407 Barrow St. in Franklin.
“We encourage families and individuals to come visit us during this time to see what special services our agency has to offer them,” said CAA Executive Director Almetra Franklin. “We will have a variety of local businesses and agencies available to share information at the Community Fair which will include, many of our community leaders, partners and friends joining us. On Friday at 10 a.m. the week will culminate with the Community Fair and Recruitment Outreach Day.
“We expect this to be the best Community Awareness Day that we have had,” she said. “The following community partners have frequently made themselves accessible each time we have requested their services. Our community partners include the Affiliated Blind of Louisiana, Teche Action Clinic, the Franklin Banner Tribune, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, Anytime Fitness, the St. Mary Parish Chamber of Commerce, Teche Regional and Franklin Foundation hospitals and several other agencies. We would like to extend several thanks to all community partners who have already committed to being a part of our Community Awareness Month activities, and offer invitations to all those who would like to be part of the festivities.”
All fathers, father figures, elderly citizens, and locally owned businesses are encouraged to participate in the Community Fair to display the community resources and programs that are available to the public through partnership with St. Mary Community Action Agency.
