HMS, WSM play road league games; FSHS steps away from District 9-3A
All three local prep football teams will play on the road with the Hanson Memorial Tigers and the West St. Mary Wolfpack battling league opponents while the Franklin Hornets step out of District 9-3A action.
Week 7 of the high school football season has the Hanson Memorial Tigers (5-2, 2-2) travel to New Iberia to battle the Highland Baptist Bears (4-3, 1-2) in District 7-1A action on Friday.
West St. Mary (0-7,0-2) will take to the road to square off against the North Vermilion Patriots (2-5, 1-1) in District 6-3A on Friday.
The Franklin Senior High School Hornets (0-7, 0-2) will step away from District 9-3A action, making the trek to play the Ellender Memorial High School Patriots in non-district action.
HMS AT HBCS
The Hanson Memorial Tigers will make the short trip to take on the Highland Baptist Bears on Friday at 7 p.m. in District 7-1A play.
Hanson enters Friday’s contest after earning a 28-0 shutout victory over the Gueydan Bears last week at McCloskey Field.
Highland Baptist dropped a 46-21 setback at the hands of highly-regarded Vermilion Catholic last week.
WSM AT NVHS
The West St. Mary Wolfpack continues District 6-3A with a road trip face off against the North Vermilion Patriots.
West St. Mary is coming off last week’s 48-7 loss to the Kaplan Pirates while North Vermilion held on for a 14-10 win over the Abbeville Wildcats in league play.
FSHS AT EHS
The Franklin Hornets will travel to face the Ellender Patriots in non-district action Friday.
During last week’s action, the Hornets suffered a 48-6 loss to league-leading E. D. White.
