Close of books Wednesday for Dec. 6 general election

Registrar of Voters Jolene Holcombe announced that books will close Wednesday for the general election Dec. 6.
Anyone wishing to vote in this election must be registered by the close of books.
Early voting for the Dec. 6 election will be held Saturday, Nov. 22 and continue Monday, Nov. 24, 25, 26 and 29.
The Registrar’s Office will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Nov. 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holidays.
Hours for early voting are 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Registrar’s Office on the third floor of the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin and also at the Registrar’s branch office in Morgan City at 301 Third St. You may vote early in either office regardless of your address.
The following issues are on the ballot:
—Law Enforcement District Proposition for St. Mary Parish – (1/2 percent sales tax)
—Any runoffs that may be necessary from the primary election.
