DHS Tigers top FSHS
The Donaldsonville High School Tigers gained a 26-0 District 9-3A victory over the Franklin Senior High School Hornets Friday at J. C. Dry Stadium.
Donaldsonville High School (5-4, 2-2) capitalized on a pair of interception returns for touchdowns along with touchdown runs to claim the victory over the Franklin Senior High School Hornets.
DHS’ Steven Sullivan ran back an interception for a 45-yard touchdown at the 11:18 mark of the first quarter, giving the Tigers a 7-0 advantage.
Donaldsonville capped the scoring in the fourth period when Hiram Mitchell scored on a 50-yard interception return, sending the Tigers out to the 26-0 victory.
Sandwiched in between the two interception returns, Tajh Gilliard and Derick Mason scored on touchdowns runs of 13 and 3 yards respectively as the Tigers built a 19-0 lead at the half.
Franklin (0-9, 0-4) will play host to the league-leading Patterson Lumberjacks in the District 9-3A regular season finale on Thursday at 7 p.m. at J. C. Dry Stadium.
