Courthouse improvements

Construction abounds in and around the St. Mary Parish Courthouse. A flood protection wall is being constructed on the rear of the seven-floor building in Franklin and renovation of the Blevins building is ongoing. The flood proofing project is being funded with Hazard Mitigation Grant funds while the Blevins building renovation to create more office space is funded with bonds issued in 2011. Teche Drive was closed to through traffic at the time the photo above was taken but is now open.
