Public hearing set on La. 70 detour

A public hearing on a study concerning a possible detour of La. 70 has been scheduled at 5 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Assumption Parish Community Center next to Assumption High School, 4910 La. 308, Napoleonville.
The hearing will be conducted by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and the Federal Highway Administration.
A detour was proposed as a sinkhole at Bayou Corne grew toward La. 70.
Information about the project is available at DOTD’s District Office, 8100 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge. Copies of this data will be made available upon request at the expense of the person requesting this information, and at a cost equal to the DOTD’s cost of reproduction.
The hearing will be to discuss the results of the LA 70 Detour Route Environmental Assessment. Detailed information relative to the project is available to those interested through copies of the EA. This information is available for review and/or copying at the DOTD’s District Office, 8100 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge. Copies of this data will be made available upon request at the expense of the person requesting this information, and at a cost equal to the DOTD’s cost of reproduction.
The assessment is available, for review only, at the FHWA Division Office, 5304 Flanders Drive, Suite A, Baton Rouge, and at the DOTD Environmental Section Office, 1201 Capitol Access Road, 5th Floor, Baton Rouge. The assessment is also available for review through Jan. 2, 2015, at the Assumption Parish Library Napoleonville Branch, 293 Napoleon Ave., Napoleonville, and at the Pierre Part Branch, 2800 La. 70, Pierre Part.
