EDGAR BURRELL JR.

Mr. Edgar Burrell Jr., 77, a resident and native of Franklin, died Sunday, January 11, 2015, at 3:29 a.m., at Louisiana Extended Care Medical Center in Lafayette following a short illness.
Visitations will be observed Thursday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Otis Mortuary, Inc. Chapel, 501 Willow St. in Franklin.
Burial rites will be read Thursday, at 11 a.m., at the mortuary, with the Rev. Carl Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Lutheran Benevolent Society Cemetery, located on Main Street in Franklin.
Survivors include six sons, Eugene Burrell (his wife, Bethany) of Charenton; Nathan J. Burrell (his wife, Deone); Edgar Darnell Burrell; and El Jarai Burrell, all of Franklin; Bryan K. Burrell (his wife, Wyonia) of Houston, TX; and Emanuel M. Booker (his wife, Pamela) of Jeanerette; five daughters, Ms. Lorraine Broussard, Ms. Vickie L. Burrell and Mrs. Monica B. John (her husband, Gabriel), all of Franklin; Mrs. Judy A. Shavers (her husband, Dezzie) of Savannah, GA; and Mrs. Samantha Booker of Houston, TX; four sisters, Mrs. Louise M. Massington of Houston, TX, Mrs. Ruth Francis of Glencoe, Mrs. Clara B. Brown and Mrs. Shirley Harris, both of Franklin; 22 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren.
Mr. Burrell was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, his wife, two brothers and two grandchildren.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
