Funeral services for Jerry Glenn Lambert were held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, with the Reverends Ricky Robertson and Matthew Pagels officiating. Interment followed at Lambert Hill Cemetery in Robeline, LA. The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on January 27, 2015 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.
Jerry, 80, was born March 19, 1934 in Robeline and passed away January 26, 2015 at his home in Robeline. He attended Robeline School as a young boy and after graduating, he joined the U.S. Air Force. He took his basic training at Wichita Falls, Texas (Sheppard Air Force Base) and served in Anchorage, Alaska (Elmendorf Air Force Base).
He returned to Louisiana and went to work in the oil fields for Texaco. He lived many years in Hackberry, Louisiana and later moved back to Robeline. He continued working for Texaco in Berwick and finally retired after 40 years of employment. After retirement he was involved in cattle and timber. However he never forgot his co-workers in South Louisiana and visited them often. Jerry had a talent for carpentry and mechanics. One of his loves was rebuilding vehicles and older farm equipment and selling them at an auction in Idabel, Oklahoma. Jerry was often busy with community projects such as the up keep of local cemeteries and helping neighbors and family in the Shady Grove community. Jerry loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He delighted in having them accompany him on his tractor or off road vehicle. He will be missed greatly by all.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy Wise Lambert of Robeline; his daughter, Julie Lambert Boudreaux and her husband, Buddy, of Natchitoches; his son, Michael Glenn Lambert and his wife, Kay, of Shanghai, China; two stepsons, David Derrick and wife, Kim, of Shreveport and Todd Derrick and wife, Jennifer, of Shreveport; his grandchildren, Jonathan Boudreaux and wife, Shannon; Micah Boudreaux and wife, Lauren; Jenwen Lambert, Kaiyun Lambert, Colton Derrick and wife, Heidi; Will Derrick and Emma Derrick; one great grandchild, Jackson Lambert Boudreaux; his sister, Dorothy Fullerton; two brothers, Terry Lambert and wife, Gwen, and Dean Lambert and wife, Amanda; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas James Lambert and Addie Williams Lambert; and three brothers, Dale Lambert, Larry Lambert, and Charles Ray Lambert.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Gerald Sparks, Freddie Sparks, Graylan Broadway, Jeremy Fullerton, Jonathan Boudreaux and Micah Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Stoker, Frank Welch and Marty Rollison.
