RANDY J. SEGURA SR.

Funeral services for Randy J. Segura Sr., 49, will be held during a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the Church of the Assumption. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the Mass. The family will receive friends at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin on Wednesday, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m., and again on Thursday at 9 a.m. until time of dismissal at 1:30 p.m.
Randy, a lifelong resident of Franklin, worked at the family business, St. Mary Tire, starting at a very early age. His first “job” there was watching for customers to walk in and then going get his father from the shop to wait on them. By age 15 he was running the shop. He enjoyed helping people and visiting with the public, so much so that he would often call customers just to ask how they were doing or how their day was going. Some of his favorite pastimes were riding in his airboat, cruising his Harley, fishing, and spending time at the camp. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Survivors include one son, Randy J. Segura Jr. and his daughter, Ra’nya; one daughter, Kimberly Segura; his parents, Allen J. Segura and Judy Miguez Segura; three siblings, Crystal Segura James and her husband, Cary; Shane J. Segura Sr. and his wife, Bambie; and Parrish J. Segura and his wife, Jeannie; his friend, Jill Broussard; nieces and nephews, Morgan James Smith, Nikki James, Shane Segura Jr., Briana Segura and Gracie Segura; his god-parents, Dennis and Theresa Melancon; as well as his beloved dog and best friend, Hooch.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Isaac Miguez Sr. and Leona Sedatol Duhon; and his paternal grandparents, Fernand Segura and Stennie Bonin Segura.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy J. Segura Jr., Parrish J. Segura, Cary James, Chase Romero, Andre Hebert and Glenn Cahanin. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Segura Sr. and Shane Segura Jr.
