Softball league meeting today
Berwick/Bayou Vista Softball League is having a meeting today at 6 p.m. at the Berwick Civic Complex for anyone interested in coaching or becoming
a board member.
Softball league registration set
Berwick/Bayou Vista Softball League registration will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Berwick Civic Complex.
The last day to register will be March 19.
MCRD holding spring sports registrations
The Morgan City Recreation Department is taking applications for its 2015 season for T-ball, baseball and softball.
To participate in the appropriate leagues, participants must be ages 5-12 on or before May 1 of the current year.
To register, please provide a copy of child’s birth certificate and player registration fee of $40.
Applications will be accepted at the recreation department Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office will be closed daily from 12:30 p.m. 1:30 p.m.
The recreation office is located at 915 Everett St.

McNeese State defeats Central Arkansas 77-60
CONWAY, Ark. — Keelan Garrett knocked down five 3-point shots, scoring 25 points, and McNeese State cruised past Central Arkansas 77-60 Tuesday night.
McNeese State (11-15, 5-10 Southland) went on a 20-0 tear during five minutes early in the second half to break away from Central Arkansas (1-24, 1-13), which lost its fifth straight.
Garrett chipped in a jumper and a layup during the run.
Kevin Hardy added 16 points and four blocked shots, Desharick Guidry added 13 points with 11 rebounds and Jamaya Burr had 12 points with nine
assists for the Cowboys.
Mathieu Kamba led the Bears with 14 points and Jordan Howard added 13.
McNeese State shot 52.5 percent (32 of 61) from the field, with 12 steals and nine blocks.
Central Arkansas finished at 41 percent shooting from the field (24 of 59) with 18 turnovers, which led to 31 points for McNeese State.
