Bobbie R. Grimball

Funeral services for Bobbie Ray Grimball, 82, will be held Friday, March 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Patterson. He will be laid to rest with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Elliot will conduct the services. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy and the East St. Mary Veteran’s Funeral Squad.
The family will receive friends today, Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a memorial service conducted by American Legion Post 242 at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday at First Baptist Church of Patterson at 8 a.m. and continue until time of service at 11 a.m.
Bobbie was a native of St. Landry and resident of Patterson for the past 60 years, who passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at his residence. He attended Bayou Chicot High School. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War on the USS Electra. Following his military service, he married the love of his life, Luby Dauzat. They then moved to Patterson and began their life together, and raised a family. He worked for Halliburton for 30 years, retiring in 1985. While working for Halliburton, he also ran his own business, Grimball’s Tax Service, which he operated until recently. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 242 in Patterson as well as the 40&8, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Patterson. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and gardening.
Bobbie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Luby Dauzat Grimball of Patterson; two sons, Tim Grimball and his wife, Kim, of Lafayette, and Keith Grimball and his wife, Michelle, of Patterson; three daughters, Kathy Primeaux and her companion, Woody Carlin, of Bayou Vista, Connie Thomas and her husband, Billy, of Berwick, and Peggy Gaspard of Berwick.
He also is survived by eight grandchildren, Tara Boudreaux and her husband, Jimmy, and Lindsey Foley and her husband, Zane, both of Youngsville, Clint Cortez and his wife, Paola, of Sarasota, Florida, Jeremy Hancox and his wife, Crystal, of Youngsville, Bill Thomas and his companion, Amy Prevost, of Berwick, Bridgette Taylor and her husband, Gary, of Patterson, and Louis A. Gaspard Jr. and wife, Lauren, and Lee Roy Gaspard, both of New Iberia; and eight great-grandchildren, Chloe’ Cortez, Dalton Cortez, Emery Hancox, Daxton Hancox, Addison Thomas, Lainey Taylor, Caleb Boudreaux and Zane Foley.
Other survivors include two sisters, Maxine Perkins of Pineville, and Joyce Sparkman and her husband, Louis, of Zachary; and two brothers, Harvey Grimball and his wife, Connie, of Zachary, and Willard Grimball and his wife, Terry, of Baton Rouge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd O. Grimball Sr. and Amelia Castete Grimball; two brothers, Larry Grimball and Floyd Grimball Jr.; a son-in-law, Randy Primeaux; a grandson, Ross Grimball; and a brother-in-law, Jarrell Perkins Sr.
Pallbearers will be Keith Grimball, Clint Cortez, Jeremy Hancox, Bill Thomas, David Cole, Herman “Bubba” Richard, Gary Taylor and Louis A. Gaspard Jr.
