CALVIN ‘PEANUT’ COWART SR.

Funeral services for Calvin “Peanut” Cowart Sr. will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at 2 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin. He will be laid to rest in the Perpetual Park Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ibert’s Mortuary on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and again Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
A native and lifelong resident of Franklin, Calvin passed away at the age of 59 on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Derouen Cowart; his mother, Leonise Cowart; three children, Faye Adams, Calvin Ray “Buster” Cowart Jr., and Mary Ellen “Goat” Sinitiere; four stepchildren, Jeannie Millet, Angel Restrepo, April Cowart and Reeva Estelle; one brother, Billy Wayne Cowart; one sister, Diane Marie Cowart Landry; his two beloved dogs, Baby Girl and Daisy; eight grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Cowart Sr.; three brothers, Leston Cowart, Ricky Cowart, James “Boy-Boy” Cowart Jr.; and one step son, Brian Millet.
Serving as pallbearers will be Calvin “Buster” Cowart Jr., Andy Sinitiere, Mike Adams, Ricky Adams, Jacob Cowart and Kalob Cowart. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Cowart.
