HELEN AUTIN

Helen Autin, 85, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Helen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was the world’s best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known for loving everyone she met and she never said goodbye without saying “I love you.”
Helen was a member of the St. Mary Parish AARP and was citizen of the month in February 2002. She was a retired Lieutenant with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. She was a devoted Catholic and devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Ernest Autin Jr. and wife Donna, Peggy Hebert and husband John, Dale Autin, Darryl Autin and wife Charlene, Susan Mendoza and fiancé LeRoy Gonzales, and Joseph Autin and wife Lois; her grandchildren, Jeremy Autin and wife Julie, Stephen Autin and wife Brittany, Jamie Guillooly and husband Chris, Melissa Mar and husband Andrew, John Hebert and wife Melissa, Kimberly Mendoza, Ellen Mendoza, Daniel Mendoza, Michael Aucoin, Austin Autin, Kyle Autin and Hallie Autin; seven great-grandchildren; and William Gant, who she thought of as a son.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ernest O. Autin Sr.; mother, Ellen Boudreaux Walker; father, Joe Walker; brothers, Clarence Walker, Joe Walker and Jules Walker; and sisters, Emma Romero, Louise Thibodeaux and Irene Collette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume from 8 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday at the church.
Helen will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following Mass.
