Tornado watch until 1 p.m. for St. Mary

A tornado watch is in effect until 1 p.m. today for most of south Louisiana, including St. Mary Parish.

A watch means conditions are favorable for tornado formation and that people in the watch area should keep an eye on weather reports.

Also included in the watch: Avoyelles, Evangeline, Rapides, St. Landry, Iberia, Lafayette. St. Martin, Acadia, Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jeff Davis and Vernon.
