Sheriff: Raceland man threatened victim with handgun

A 32-year-old Raceland man was charged with assault after allegedly threatening another man with a handgun, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Antonio Nieves, 32, of the 600 block of Dantin Street in Raceland, was arrested at 2:16 p.m. Friday on the charge of aggravated assault. A deputy responded to a business on Duhon Boulevard in Amelia in reference to a complaint of an assault. The deputy learned that Nieves threatened a male victim with a handgun during an argument, Hebert said. Nieves was jailed and later released on $500 bail.
Hebert reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Garrett Daigle, 20, of the 100 block of Ross Lane in Morgan City, at 4:32 a.m. today on the charges of disturbing the peace and criminal trespass. A deputy investigating a report of a disturbance on Lagonda Road learned that Daigle banged on the side of a mobile home while yelling that he wanted to fight one of the residents, Hebert said. Daigle was jailed with bail set at $750.
—Brittany Stansbury, 19, of the 1400 block of North Third Street in Morgan City, at 4:05 p.m. Friday on the charge of theft. Detectives investigating a complaint of a theft identified Stansbury as the person who stole jewelry from a relative’s home in the Patterson area and attempted to sell it at a pawn shop, Hebert said. Stansbury was released on a summons to appear in court Aug. 19.
—Ryan Savell, 31, of the 6500 block of La. 182 in Franklin, at 10:19 p.m. Friday on the charge of domestic abuse battery. A deputy assigned to patrol the Amelia area observed a man dragging a woman in the parking lot of a business on La. 182 and stopped to investigate, Hebert said. The deputy made contact with Savell and other witnesses at the scene and determined that Savell struck a woman in the face, the sheriff said. Savell was jailed with no bail set.
—Angel Strickland, 23, of the 100 block of Honey Lane in Bayou L’Ourse, at 10:19 p.m. Friday on the charge of domestic abuse battery. While conducting an investigation into a possible battery at a business on Highway 182 in Amelia, a deputy made contact with Strickland and learned that she hit and pulled a male victim on the arms while inside the business. Strickland was jailed with no bail set.
—Louise Boudreaux, 39, of the 100 block of Cremo Lane in Patterson, at 9:02 a.m. Saturday on the charges of careless operation of a motor vehicle and hit and run driving. A deputy was dispatched to a report of a crash on U.S. 90 in Bayou Vista.
During the investigation, the deputy learned that Boudreaux struck another vehicle as it was turning onto La. 182. Boudreaux failed to stop continuing to travel west on U.S. 90. Boudreaux was jailed and later released on a summons to appear in court Aug. 19.
—Ryan Sullivan, 25, of the 100 block of Mendoza Drive in Ricohoc, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday on the charges of disturbing the peace and theft.
—Kayla Sullivan, 23, of the 100 block of Mendoza Drive in Ricohoc, at 6:41 p.m. Saturday on the charge of disturbing the peace.
—Christopher Ladner, 23, of the 100 block of Mendoza Drive in Ricohoc, at 6:55 p.m. Saturday on the charges of disturbing the peace and simple criminal damage to property.
A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance outside of a residence on Mendoza Drive in Ricohoc.
During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Ryan Sullivan took an electronic tablet from a man, Hebert said. Ladner and Ryan Sullivan engaged in a brief physical altercation.
During the incident, Ladner threw a utility tool at a vehicle causing minor damage, Hebert said.
During the disturbance, Kayla Sullivan yelled profanities, Hebert said. Kayla Sullivan was released on a summons to appear in court Aug. 19. Ryan Sullivan and Ladner were jailed and later released on summons to appear in court Aug. 19.
—Micah Domingue, 21, of the 100 block of Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista, at 12:51 a.m. Sunday on the charges of hit and run driving and reckless operation of a vehicle.
A deputy responded to a report of a hit and run on Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista.
The deputy located the suspect vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Domingue.
The deputy learned that Domingue struck a speed limit sign on Jupiter Street and continued driving without reporting the crash. Domingue was jailed and later released on $1,500 bail.
—A juvenile female, 16, of Bayou Vista, at 3:38 a.m. Sunday on the charge of being an ungovernable juvenile and on a warrant for unauthorized use of a moveable. A deputy responded to a complaint of an ungovernable juvenile at a residence in Bayou Vista.
During the investigation, the deputy learned that the juvenile left the residence at midnight without the permission of a guardian. The juvenile was also charged on the warrant for taking a vehicle without the owner’s permission, Hebert said. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—Jose Hernandez Cerritos, 35, of the 100 block of Lenny’s Lane in Amelia, at 4:22 a.m. Sunday on the charge of reckless operation of a vehicle, no driver’s license, and no insurance. A deputy responded to report of a single vehicle crash on Odile Lane in Amelia.
Upon arrival, the deputy located an SUV with the engine running that had struck the front of a mobile home. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Cerritos, and learned that he did not have a valid driver’s license or insurance. Cerritos was jailed and later released on $1,000 bail.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Lisa A. Turner, 36, of Franklin, at 7:56 p.m. Monday on warrants charging her with no driver’s license and no insurance.
Turner was transported from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville to the Morgan City Police Department for outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court. Turner was booked and incarcerated.
—Peter E. Grogan, 37, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, at 5:43 a.m. today on a warrant charging him on two counts of criminal neglect of family.
Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Sixth Street in regards to someone being in the complainant’s backyard. When officers arrived, they noticed a subject in the backyard of the residence asleep in a chair. Officers made contact with the subject, Grogan, and a local warrants check was done. It was determined that Grogan held active warrants through the 16th Judicial Court. Grogan was jailed.
—Julio A. Marquez, 44, of Franklin Street in Morgan City, at 10:13 a.m. Friday on the charges of hit and run driving and no driver’s license.
Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Federal Avenue in regards to a hit and run vehicle accident. When officers arrived, the owner of one of the vehicles stated that he was in his back yard when he heard a loud crash. He proceeded to the front of his residence and noticed the rear of his vehicle damaged with a side mirror of another vehicle lying in the roadway.
A witness stated that she noticed a small black vehicle crash into the victim’s vehicle and proceed north on Federal Avenue. Officers patrolled the area and noticed a small black vehicle on Franklin Street with fresh damage and a side view mirror missing.
The driver of the vehicle, Marquez, was asked about the damage to his vehicle. Marquez admitted to crashing into the vehicle, but stated he was afraid and did not stop, Blair said. Marquez was jailed and later released on bail.
—Felton Charles, 32, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, at 3:15 p.m. Friday on the charge of domestic abuse battery third offense.
Officers were dispatched to a residence on South Railroad Avenue in regards to someone taking a cellphone. When officers arrived, the victim stated that Charles had taken her cellphone and refused to return it, Blair said.
Officers located Charles and he agreed to return the phone to the victim.
While returning the phone, Charles lunged towards the victim and struck her in the chest area, Blair said. Charles was jailed.
—Jeremie M. Paul, 24, of Mallard Street in Morgan City, at 3:49 p.m.
Saturday on a warrant charging him with failure to pay fine and on a hold for probation and parole.
Officers patrolling the area of Seventh Street near Clothilde Street noticed Paul in the area. Officers were aware of active warrants for Paul’s arrest.
Paul was stopped and told of the warrants. He was jailed.
—Zachary J. Rainey, 25, of Glenwood Street in Morgan City, at 4:39 a.m. Saturday on the charge of possession of marijuana first offense.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Pecos and Glenwood streets in regards to a suspicious person in the area. A description was given and officers located Rainey in the area, Blair said. According to reports, officers located suspected marijuana on Rainey. He was jailed.
—Preston S. Cuvillier, 20, of Ditch Avenue in Morgan City, at 12:11 a.m. Sunday on the charge of two tail lamps required and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of general speed law.
A patrol officer in the area of Brashear Avenue noticed a vehicle with improper lighting.
A traffic stop was conducted. The driver, Cuvillier, was jailed and later released on bail.
—Dalton G. Andras, 17, of Longville, at 2:23 p.m. Sunday on the charge of loud music from vehicle, possession of Schedule l marijuana first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A patrol officer in the area of La. 182 near the U.S. 90 junction noticed a vehicle with extremely loud music coming from inside the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Andras.
The officer noticed tobacco products in Andras’ vehicle and considering Andras’ age it was unlawful for him to possess those items.
The officer asked Andras for consent to search his vehicle and consent was given.
The officer located suspected marijuana and a pipe commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Andras was jailed and later released on bail.
—Latasha L. Thomas, 28, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, at 10:12 p.m. Sunday on the charges of driving under suspension, failure to carry registration and no insurance.
An officer in the area of Everett Street and Federal Avenue noticed a vehicle with no license plate displayed.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Thomas, was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Thomas stated to the officer that she believes her license is under suspension.
A computer check was done on her driver’s license and it was determined that her license was suspended.
Thomas did not have the proper registration for the vehicle or insurance.
Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. Thomas was later released on bond.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Deonta Reaux, 28, of the 100 block of Montrachet Drive in Port Allen, at 6:15 p.m. Friday on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. Reaux was released on $323 cash bail.
—Sonya Richard, 28, of the 1300 block of Second Street in Patterson, at 6:15 p.m. Friday on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. Richard was released on $323 cash bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Trystan Andorf, 19, of Bayou L’Ourse, at 3:30 p.m. Friday on the charges of obstructing or blocking a private driveway and resisting an officer. Andorf was released on $1,250 bail.
