Iconic statue's 40th anniversary observed

Members of The Confraternity of Our Lady Star of the Sea pose with the Our Lady Star of the Sea statue Sunday night to mark the 40th anniversary of its placement in the median on Brashear Avenue in Morgan City. Members said prayers invoking protection for the community by asking the Blessed Mother to intercede for her son. The Rev. Noas Kerketta of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiated at the ceremony.
