Police Reports 9-3-15

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Gerald Cooks, 54, of 374 Degravelle Road, Amelia, was arrested Wednesday at 2:29 p.m. on a charge of second offense possession of drug paraphernalia. No bond was set.
A juvenile male, 16, of Bayou Vista, was arrested Wednesday at 3:23 p.m. on a charge of remaining where forbidden and released to a guardian pending juvenile court.
Craig P. Blanc, 37, of Youngsville, was arrested Wednesday at 11:53 p.m. on charges of disturbing the peace intoxicated, resisting an officer, possession of Adderall and bringing contraband into a jail. No bond was set.
Desirae Yarborough, 54, of 1516 Cross Road, No. 2, Bayou Vista, was arrested Wednesday at 11:53 p.m. on charges of disturbing the peace intoxicated and resisting an officer. Bond is set at $1,200.
Narcotics Division agents arrested Demetris A. Jackson, 24, and Braylon Dugas, 21, both of Breaux Bridge. Jackson was charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute and resisting an officer. Dugas was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Working with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, detectives with the Narcotics Division received information that Jackson was traveling to the St. Mary Parish area to deliver crystal methamphetamine. Detectives conducted a surveillance operation near the parish line and reportedly spotted Jackson traveling in a vehicle on US 90. Detectives observed the vehicle pull off of the highway into a gas station in the Four Corners area. When detectives made contact with Jackson, he reportedly fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Jackson was apprehended and brought back to the vehicle. Detectives reportedly received consent to search the vehicle and located several hidden bags of crystal methamphetamine. The total approximate street value of the drug is estimated at $13,000. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Dugas, was reportedly also found to be in possession of a bag of marijuana and cigar wraps. Jackson and Dugas were both transported to the parish jail for booking. Dugas was released after posting $3,500 bond. Jackson remains incarcerated with bail set at $76,000. The Franklin, Berwick, and Morgan City Police Departments assisted the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in this investigation.
