An I-49 Lafayette Connector Launch event and public information meeting at Rosa Parks Transportation Center, 101 Jefferson St., Lafayette, Oct. 6. Includes: 3 p.m. launch, 4 p.m. meeting. DOTD will provide an overview of activities planned for the next 18 months. Open-house format to learn more about the project and get public comments. Free and public invited.

From 9-11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Walmart, U.S. 90, Bayou Vista. Screenings for breast, skin and colorectal cancer by Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
