Chez Hope awards luncheon
Chez Hope Inc. held its Unity Day Luncheon Thursday, also during the “Fit, Fun and Fabulous in Franklin” event which they were a partner in. St. Mary mayors and parish leaders signed proclamations declaring October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Chez Hoped handed out awards for Volunteer of the Year and the Peacemaker Award. The volunteer award went to Enlink Midstream, accepted by Richard Calhoun, Pelican Plant operations manager. The company renovated a shelter apartment for Chez Hope, and has remodeled a playground and teen room in the past, among other means of support to the organization. Below, the Peacemaker Award was presented posthumously to Judge James R. McClelland, a Sixteenth Judicial District Court judge who presided over drug intervention measures and drug court for much of his tenure. His wife Sandy McClelland accepted the award on her late husband’s behalf. Pictured with the recipients are Director Cherrise Picard, at top left board president Chuck Autin and at bottom left Dana Judice.
