Landry gets parish
GOP endorsement
The St. Mary Republican Parish Executive Committee has endorsed Jeff Landry for Louisiana attorney general.
In making the endorsement, St. Mary committee Chairman Christian Gil said, “Jeff Landry has consistently been pro-life, pro-freedom, and pro-gun. With our state under attack from an overreaching federal government, it is critical we have a proven conservative as Attorney General; it is critical we have Jeff Landry.”

Financial planner
to speak Wednesday
Jeff Fair, president of the American Planning Corp., will be the speaker for the Chamber Business Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Petroleum Club, 500 Roderick St., Morgan City.
Fair specializes in financial and strategic planning for community banks.
The luncheon is sponsored by Patterson State Bank.

Head Start
Awareness Day
The St. Mary Community Action Agency will host a proclamation signing Wednesday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Head Start program.
October has been designated as Head Start Awareness Month, which is a significant milestone for a program that began as a summer activity in 1965 and has evolved into a premier Early Childhood program, having served over 32 million children and families nationwide, according to a news release.
In recognition of the 50th anniversary, St. Mary Community Action Agency will hold a proclamation signing for Head Start Awareness month at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Baby Bear Head Start Center in Morgan City.
