More than 300 cast ballots Monday

Voting totals topped 800 votes Monday in St. Mary Parish through the second day of early voting for the Oct. 24 primary election.
As of the end of Monday, 808 voters had cast their ballots in St. Mary Parish, according to the Parish Registrar of Voters. On Monday, 176 voters voted in Franklin, while 144 voters did so in Morgan City. A total of 434 Democrats, 253 Republicans and 121 other party voters have voted. Five hundred sixty white voters, 240 voters and eight voters of races voted thus far.
Three hundred seventy-four men and 434 women voted by the end of the day Monday. Seven hundred twenty-two people have voted in person, and 86 by absentee ballot.
Early voting began Oct. 10 and continues through Saturday, at the parish registrar of voters’ offices. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
In St. Mary Parish, people can vote early at the Registrar of Voters Office on the third floor of the courthouse in Franklin or at the registrar’s Morgan City branch office, 301 Third St.
