Construction work continues in an effort to upgrade flood control infrastructure on the Yellow Bayou that will protect areas to the north of the location near U.S. 90. The St. Mary Parish Levee District commissioned the flood control structure as protection against hurricane storm surges. SeaLevel Construction of Thibodaux is the contractor.
