CCHS, Patterson advance to the playoffs

Central Catholic and Patterson High schools advanced to the football playoffs as top five seeds in their respective brackets, which were released today.
Central Catholic is the No. 3 seed in Division IV, while Patterson is the No. 4 seed in Class 3A.
The Eagles (9-1), who closed their regular season with a 46-22 victory against previously undefeated Ascension Episcopal, will open the Division IV playoffs Friday at home against No. 14 seed Grambling (6-4).
Meanwhile, Patterson (8-2), who ran its win streak to eight straight with a win against Franklin Thursday, also will begin its postseason journey Friday at home against No. 29 seed Ville Platte (5-5).
