Local briefs for Nov. 11; early voting, Anytime Turkey Trot

Early voting
resumes Thursday
There’s no early voting today at St. Mary Registrar of Voters Offices because of Veterans Day. But voters can still cast early ballots from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the offices at 301 Third St. in Morgan City and at the parish courthouse in Franklin.
As of Tuesday, 1,445 St. Mary residents had cast early ballots. Election day is Nov. 21.

Turkey Trot will
benefit food charity
Anytime Fitness of Bayou Vista and Morgan City will host the first Turkey Trot at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 21.
The Turkey Trot is a two-mile run-walk that is open to members, nonmembers and children accompanied by an adults.
The entry fee for the race is one nonperishable food item per participant.
All donations will go to the local charity Paying it Forward.
There will be prizes for the overall women’s and men’s winner. Water and fruit will be provided after the race.
