Officials to discuss potential flood threat at special meeting

St. Mary Levee District officials will hold a special meeting Monday to discuss the potential threat of rising water levels in the Atchafalaya River.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at the Port of Morgan City meeting room, located at 800 Youngs Road in Morgan City.
The agenda includes discussion and action on the possible flood threat from a rising Atchafalaya River and discussion and action on a declaration of a state of emergency and authorization for officials to make necessary preparations to prevent loss of lives or threats to property.
