'Jills split jamboree games

Patterson High School split its jamboree contests in Franklin Thursday, falling to Centerville, 4-3, before defeating Franklin, 12-0.
Against Centerville, Kara Lawrence led Patterson with a 1-for-1 performance with a double and a stolen base. She also scored a run.
Tapanga Haven suffered the loss for the Lumberjills.
Against Franklin, Haven earned the win.
Offensively, Lawrence finished 1-for-1 with a double and a run scored, while Makayla Knight recorded a double and scored a run.
Patterson will open its season Tuesday when it hosts Ellender in a 4 p.m. contest.
Berwick and CCHS to compete at Teurlings
Berwick and Central Catholic will compete in jamboree action Saturday at Teurlings Catholic.
Berwick will meet Teurlings at 12:15 p.m. and Notre Dame at 2:15 p.m. Teurlings was a Class 4A semifinalist in 2015, while Notre Dame was a Class 3A quarterfinalist.
Meanwhile, Central Catholic, the defending Class 1A state champion, will face Kaplan at 11 a.m. and Opelousas Catholic at 1:15 p.m. Kaplan was the Class 3A runner-up in 2015, and Opelousas Catholic was a Class 2A quarterfinalist.
MCHS to compete at
Assumption Jamboree
Morgan City High School will conclude exhibition play at the Assumption Jamboree.
The Lady Tigers will meet John Curtis at 11 a.m. and E.D. White at 3 p.m. John Curtis was the Class 3A state champion in 2014.
