3 local teams earn berths in playoffs

Three local basketball teams earned berths in the LHSAA 2016 boys basketball playoffs brackets released Monday afternoon.
The West St. Mary Wolfpack, Centerville Bulldogs and Hanson Memorial Tigers all qualified for postseason play in their respective classes.
In Class 2A, the West St. Mary Wolfpack, the No. 27 seed, will travel to face No. 6 seed Rayville in the opening round.
In Class 1A, the Centerville Bulldogs, seeded No. 24, will meet No. 9 Sicily Island in the first round.
Also in Class 1A, the No. 30 seeded Hanson Memorial Tigers will take on No. 3 Southern Lab in the opening round.
