ALVIN ‘HONDOO’ LEWIS SR.

Alvin “Hondoo” Lewis Sr., 61, a resident of Jeanerette, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10:14 a.m., at the Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, March 12, from 9 a.m. until funeral services 11 a.m., at the Jones Funeral Home in Franklin. The Rev. Arthur Alexander will officiate the services. Burial will follow funeral services in the Sorrel Community Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis was employed with Davis Truck Service as a mechanic for the majority of his occupation prior to becoming disabled.
Memories of “Hondoo” or “Pops”, as he was affectionately known to many, will forever be cherished in the hearts of his wife, Glenda F. Lewis of Jeanerette; one son, Alvin Lewis Jr. of Austin, TX; two daughters, Mrs. Corey (Latronya) Brown of Slidell, and Wauricka Lewis of Springfield, OH; two sisters, Brenda Joyce Lewis of Jeanerette, LA and Mrs. Arthur (Laurie) Hardin of Nolanville, TX; three brothers, Marshall Lewis Jr. (Phoebe) of Lafayette; Kevin Lewis of. Lawtell and Keith Lewis (Serina) of Jeanerette; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He now joins in glory with his parents, one sister and one brother.
