Donald John Ross Jr., 38, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016, in his home.
He was born on June 2, 1977, in Morgan City, the son of Donald John Ross Sr. and Donna Barrow Hoya.
Donald was a loving son, father and friend that will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He loved sports. He was an avid wrestling fan, and a diehard Saints and LSU fan. Donald also enjoyed playing cards, which led him to become a member of the Teche Poker Club.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Alexis Nicole Ross; father, Donald John Ross Sr., and stepmother, Sandra Ross, of Berwick; mother, Donna Barrow Hoya and stepfather, Shane Hoya, of Bayou Vista; sister, Alisa Lynn Ross McCary and husband, Brad; nieces, Amber Lynn Demers and Katie Rae McCary; nephew, Jacob McCary; grandmother, Dorothy Martin Barrow; and godparents, Jo Anna Barrow Purvis and husband, Jessie, and Brett Martin Barrow and wife, Charlene.
Donald is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Joe A. Barrow; paternal grandmother, Grace Chaisson Ross; and paternal grandfather, John Irving “Chuck” Ross.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home and resumes Wednesday, March 30, 2016, from 9 a.m. until Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Donald will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Mausoleum following Mass.
